This manuscript, fundamental for lovers of the Science of Hermes, is of inestimable value to the connoisseur because it reveals to us the true matter upon which we should base our labors. It does so through a subtlety that only those of us who know the name of the matter can find the trace or clue to it. However, through several color engravings, it leads us to an understanding of what the matter is, our Dragon. This is the famous text where we discover the Corpus (or body) where we will work to make the Philosopher's Stone. And from none other than Brother Basil Valentine, author of the Triumphal Chariot of Antimony. What more could we need to have it in our library properly?

The secret conveyed in this manuscript is absolutely fundamental to alchemy. Because it teaches us, in a genuine and efficient manner, how to prepare the Alkahest and what its fundamental material is, on which we should focus our efforts. Through a look at the various methods and materials, such as working with urine and tartar as a magnet for the Spiritus Mundi, the author proposes something much more formidable. I offer an explanation in the translator's epilogue, supported by practical laboratory experience, which finally clarifies the preparation of the mythical Alkahest.

As the author of this manuscript from 1683 notes: "Almost everything here is new." And it remains so despite the passage of time. In other words, these are succinct, yet truly engaging and curious inventions that, over the centuries, have not yet been fully deciphered. This book contains many secrets, revealed just like that, in summary form, but which could take years for the neophyte to discover for themselves. It particularly emphasizes the materials extracted from the body itself, from blood or urine, to create small Suns or perpetual luminaries. And it doesn't fail to examine a material with which we have extensive experience—and which I will discuss at length in my latest book, Concerning Potable Gold—with which, along with gold, it creates an extraordinary medicine.

This pamphlet, written in 1423, was published by a German scholar whose name is unknown to us, as he remained strictly anonymous. From his pen, however, we can find traces of a genuine adept who understood our matter and how to work it. This fruit can be perceived as it leads us to reflect on metals and their evolution on earth. For this reason, it was originally known by this other title: The True Teaching of Philosophy on the Generation of Metals and Their True Origin.

It's unusual to find a book with the qualities we're presenting here. Not only because it tells us about the material, but because it explains how to get the most out of it, something Didier himself refuses to explain, not even giving us the name of our mineral. Furthermore, this book finally explains, in the proper proportions, the Philosopher's Hand and how salts are combined to open our treasure chest.
Enjoy it.

To a wise man, as the saying goes, few words suffice. This marvelous work, written in 1740, introduces us to the world of the Great Work, rejecting false operations and guiding us through nature in an extremely simple process, glimpsed between the lines, behind the copious biblical quotations it includes. However, it traces the path to metals as where we should focus our attention to obtain the Philosopher's Stone and even defines which mineral is chosen; that is, it points out the remote raw material. Once again, it warns us that if we don't know what matter is, we should do absolutely nothing, because it would be harmful and we would waste our time and money. However, as the author tells us: "Matter is known by few and is found by few, because it has so many names." This has always been the crux of the matter, because once you know it, you've come a long way. And this author, as we say, mentions it by name without difficulty.

A book that describes the Hermetic principles of the Great Work and how to achieve it through a unique disposition. If you're looking for a recipe, this isn't the place to go; instead, it's the understanding of the greatest dilemmas echoed throughout the alchemical corpus: our Permanent Water, our Brass, the Red Servant, etc.
